Coach Brendan Gleason will work with the Swordfish defensemen and midfielders. He came aboard in eh Fall of 2014. He spent the 2014 season at Lynn University, where he was a graduate-assistant coach for the Fighting Knights’ inaugural NCAA Division II lacrosse season.
Prior to that, Gleason spent two years at the College of Saint Rose, where he served as an assistant lacrosse coach and the defensive coordinator. In Gleason’s first year at Saint Rose, he helped guide the lacrosse team to a 7-6 record in the program’s first year of competition while playing the toughest strength of schedule index in all of NCAA Division II. In Gleason’s second season at Saint Rose, his defense was ranked 6th in the nation in caused turnovers and 3rd in the NE-10. Two of his defenders led the NE-10 in caused turnovers and received all-conference and all-rookie recognitions
Coach attended the University at Albany from 2006-2010. During his time there, Gleason played in 57 games and was a part of the 2007 America East Championship team that reached the NCAA quarterfinal and was ranked #2 in the nation for 10 weeks. During his senior year, he was ranked nationally in caused turnovers per game and was voted 1st Team All-America East.
Coach graduated from UAlbany with a bachelor’s degree in sociology and a minor in business administration. He earned a MBA specialized in Sports and Athletic Administration at Lynn University.
Brendan was a four-year letter-winner at Shoreham-Wading River High School where he helped lead the team to four consecutive Suffolk County Championships from 2003-2006 in addition to the 2003 Long Island Championship.
Coach Gleason lives in Delray with his fiance, Ally. He works at Saint Andrew’s School as the Sports Information Director.
